Position: Elementary School Teacher (K-5)

Overview:
At Southeastern Academy of A&T, we are seeking innovative and dynamic K-5 Teachers who are passionate about teaching beyond the traditional classroom walls. This role is perfect for an educator eager to integrate STEM and Agricultural (AG) concepts into a conventional curriculum while utilizing outdoor and experiential learning methods. Our year-round program offers the opportunity to engage students with the natural world, enhancing their learning experiences and fostering a deeper understanding of STEM subjects through hands-on activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching & Curriculum Integration: Deliver a K-5 curriculum that integrates STEM with traditional subjects, emphasizing real-world applications and problem-solving.
• Outdoor and Experiential Learning: Utilize our extensive outdoor facilities to conduct educational activities that connect students with the environment, promoting a hands-on approach to learning.
• Student Evaluation and Feedback: Assess student progress with a focus on practical skills and conceptual understanding, providing constructive feedback to support continuous learning.
• Collaborative Projects and Events: Coordinate with other teachers to organize interdisciplinary projects and school-wide STEM events that encourage community involvement and practical learning.
• Professional Development: Participate in professional development sessions to stay current with the latest in STEM education, outdoor learning techniques, and innovative teaching practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, preferably with a focus on Elementary Education.
• Valid teaching certification for K-5 education.
• Proven experience in integrating STEM subjects with traditional curricula at the elementary level.
• Strong commitment to outdoor and experiential education.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage students, parents, and staff.
• Creativity and enthusiasm for teaching and learning, with a strong desire to push the boundaries of conventional classroom education.
